- ADDITIONAL DRIVERS
- The renters spouse or domestic partner who meets the same age and drivers license requirements as the renter are authorized drivers. Any additional authorized drivers must appear at the time of rental and meet age and drivers license requirements.
A spouse or domestic partner is the only permitted additional driver on a rental secured with a debit card (if renting a car with a debit card is allowed at a selected rental location) unless required by law.
- AGE
- The minimum age requirement to rent a vehicle with Carwiz is 21. There is a young driver surcharge for all customers renting a car under the age of 26. The maximum age limit is 75. Charges vary depending on the rental location.
Car Rental Age Requirements and Additional Information: Car rental rates may be higher for renters between the ages of 21 and 26, underage driver surcharge may apply. The primary renter and additional drivers of the vehicle must be at least 26 years of age to avoid an underage driver surcharge. Certain specialty and larger vehicles may not be rented to drivers under the age of 26.
- BUSINESS HOURS
- Pick up/drop off is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week provided you have submitted all documentation needed during the pre-trip process and it has been reviewed by staff during customer service hours. Customer service hours range from 6 am. to 6 pm. Mountain (Arizona) Standard Time.
- CANCELLATION
- This reservation is non cancellable, nonrefundable (including for COVID19). In order to cancel renter must purchase cancellation protection at checkout.
- CDW
- Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) may be offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. If the renter accepts CDW, Carwiz affiliate waives or reduces the renters responsibility for loss of, or damage to, the rental vehicle (including but not limited to towing, storage, impound, and administrative fees subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement and applicable laws. CDW is not insurance. The purchase of CDW is optional and not required to rent a car. The protection provided by CDW may duplicate the renters existing coverage. Carwiz affiliate is not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the renters existing coverage, therefore the renter should examine his or her credit card protections, automobile insurance policy, or other sources of coverage that may duplicate the protection provided by CDW.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) eliminates the renter or any authorized drivers of financial responsibility, over and above of the deductible, for the rental vehicle in case of an accident as long as the terms and conditions of the rental agreement are met and not violated. If terms of the rental agreement are violated renter or authorized driver is responsible for up to the fair market value of the vehicle for any damage or loss of the rental vehicle regardless of fault and for loss of use, administrative fees, and diminished value of the vehicle. Third parties and unauthorized drivers are not covered by CDW. The driver must obtain an accident report from the police or CDW will be voided. comprehensive, losses such as fire, vandalism, flood, hail or acts of god are not covered under CDW coverage. Off-road and negligent driving is a violation of the rental agreement.
When deciding whether or not to purchase CDW, you may wish to check with your insurance representative or credit card company to determine whether, in the event of damage to, or the ft a vehicle, you have coverage or protection for such damage or theft and the amount of your deductible or out of-pocket risk.
- CLEANING
- A cleaning fee of up to 250 USD may be charged for returned vehicles which have been stained, soiled, or found with significant amounts of filth dirt mud animal hair or other substances.
- CURRENCY
- Company operates in U.S. Dollar.
- DEBIT CARDS
- Credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners and Discover are accepted. Cards must be in renter`s own name. Personal checks, prepaid cards, and cash are not allowed as a form of payment. Prepaid, recharge or virtual debit credit cards, Apple Pay Samsung Pay or any card on which the relevant characters are not raised (embossed) are not accepted as a form of payment.
- DEPOSIT RULES
- A refundable deposit is required prior to pick-up and must be in the name of the renter. Deposit is 400 USD. Deposits may be higher at the discretion of company and can be more based on the class of vehicle booked for the reservation. Driver`s Credit Card is necessary for a deposit.
- DIRECTIONS
- SHUTTLE: Our curbside shuttle service runs 24 7 (you will not be taking the Sky Harbor Skytrain)
PICKUP:
If you are flying into Sky Harbor Airport, our shuttle service will pick you up curbside. They run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you are picking up locally, we will provide you details on where to go at the location to grab your vehicle on the day of arrival. - DRIVERS LICENSE
- Customers who reside in the U.S., U.S. Territories, or Canada must present a valid, unexpired government-issued Drivers license which includes a photograph of the customer. Digital licenses are not accepted. The drivers license must be valid for the entire rental period.
Customers traveling to the U.S. and Canada from other countries:
Customers must check with the appropriate Department of Motor Vehicles in the States or Provinces in which they intend to travel to ensure compliance with their various licensing laws. The following practices are used to ensure the customer is presenting a facially valid license at the time of rental.
Customers traveling to the United States and Canada from another country must present the following:
Their home country drivers license that is valid, unexpired, and includes a photograph, and
If the home country license is in a language other than English (or French, for rentals in Canada) and the letters are English (i.e. German, Spanish, etc.) an International Drivers Permit is recommended, but not required, for translation purposes in addition to the home country license.
If the home country license is in a language other than English and the letters are not English (i.e. alphabet is not an extended Latin-based alphabet like German or Spanish but is Russian, Japanese, Arabic, etc.) an International Drivers Permit is required.
If an International Drivers permit cannot be obtained in the home country, another professional, type written translation may be substituted. In either case, the home country license must also be presented.
Customers may not rent a vehicle solely with the International Drivers Permit. The International Drivers Permit is a translation of the individuals home country license and is not considered a license nor is it considered valid identification.
In some US locations, customers not holding a US drivers license may be asked to provide additional documentation. Examples of this may include a valid passport or, in certain states (AZ, CA, CO, NM, TX) a valid Mexican voter registration card and/or inbound and outbound travel documentation.
In some Canadian locations, customers not holding a Canadian drivers license may be asked to provide additional valid government issued documentation. Examples of this may include a valid passport.
Photocopies of Drivers Licenses are not accepted
Learners Permits are not accepted.
Any license that, on its face, restricts the licensee to the use and operation of a vehicle equipped with a form of a breathalyzer apparatus is not accepted.
Temporary Drivers Licenses may be refused if the renting location is unable to otherwise verify the customers identity or verify the authenticity of the temporary license. Additional Government issued identification may be required.
- EARLY RETURN
- There are no refunds for early return.
- EQUIPMENT
- Tracking Devices. Your vehicle may be equipped with a GPS and diagnostic tracking devices to track or locate cars as necessary, cars condition, performance and operation, track fuel consumption, distance travelled, location and other information We may transmit such information to us, our third party providers and/or the car manufacturer. Evidence of tampering with GPS or damage will result in a 250 USD fine.
Repossession. Company, the Vehicle owner and/or hired agent of company or of the Vehicle owner may repossess any Vehicle rented without demand, at the renters expense, if the Vehicle is not returned by the end of the reservation, is found illegally parked or apparently abandoned, or is used in violation of applicable law or this Agreement.
- FUEL
- As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel.
Option 1 Prepay Fuel (if available) This option allows the renter to pay for the full tank of gas at the time of rental and return the tank empty. The price is based on an estimate of current fuel prices and the average tank size for the car received. No refunds will be issued for unused gas.
Option 2 We Refill. This option allows the renter to pay Carwiz at the end of the rental for gas used but not replaced. The price per gallon will be $13.99 gal
Option 3 You Refill. This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas to avoid extra fuel charges.
- GEOGRAPHIC
- Rental vehicle may be driven throughout the state of Arizona. Out of state travel is subject to a 250.00 USD fine.
- HOLIDAY
- INSURANCE
- Your own insurance is primary and they cover all of part of your financial responsibility for the rental vehicle and third parties. It is your responsibility to check with your insurance company to find out about your coverage. Renter (Owner) Provides liability insurance covers the person is using the vehicle with the permission of the renter, as provided for in the rental agreement, in accordance with the provisions of an automobile liability insurance policy equal to the maximum requirements of any applicable state financial responsibility law or statute with a $2500 deductible. All liability insurance coverage afforded under this agreement is secondary and applicable only after all other valid policies (whether primary, excess or contingent) has been paid or exhausted to the full limits. Unless required by law, the policy does not include no fault, supplemental no fault, underinsured, underinsured motorist coverage, or other optional first party coverage, and the renter hereby rejects such coverages to the extent permitted by law. Coverage is void if renter is in breach of the terms of the rental agreement or if they fail to cooperate in any loss investigation conducted by us or our insurer.
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) may be offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. The purchase of SLI is optional and not required to rent a vehicle. SLI provides you with up to $1,000,000 of increased liability protection should bodily injury and property damage claims be made against you by people injured in an accident. SLI safeguards your insurance policy and/or your assets for the first $1,000,000 should such claims be made against you. Supplemental Liability Insurance also provides uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage up to $1,000,000 per occurrence for combined bodily injury and/or property damage claims. The purchase of SLI is optional and not required to rent a car. The coverage provided by SLI may duplicate the renters existing coverage. Carwiz affiliate is not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the renters existing coverage; therefore the renter should examine his or her personal insurance policies or other sources of coverage that may duplicate the coverage provided by SLI.
- MILEAGE
- Mileage is limited to 100 miles per day. Additional charges apply if your total mileage exceeds the limit.
- NO-SHOWS
- Renter will reference their confirmation email with regard to not showing up for a rental.
- ONE-WAY
- Company does not permit one-way trips to other locations at this time.
- OPTIONAL PROTECTION PRODUCTS
- Unless purchased through the online travel agency, renter as the choice of several protection plans that can be purchased during the check-in process.

RENTAL LIABILITY POLICY: This option will help protect the renter should the renter injure another person in an accident, or damage the property of another while operating the rental vehicle, up to the policy limits. See your contract and terms of service for limitations and exclusions. Add on services may only be purchase prior to your contracted time of pickup. Any orders submitted after your trip start time are not applicable and will be refunded.
2. Rental Collision Protection: Provides up to $20,000 of coverage to damages made to your rental vehicle. See your contract and terms of service for limitations and exclusions. Add on services may only be purchase prior to your contracted time of pickup. Any orders submitted after your trip start time are not applicable and will be refunded.
3. RENTAL COLLISION PROTECTION: Provides up to $20,000 of coverage to damages made to your rental vehicle. RENTAL LIABILITY POLICY: This option will help protect the renter should the renter injure another person in an accident, or damage the property of another while operating the rental vehicle, up to the policy limits. - OTHER
- Prepaid and Debit cards are not accepted.
The renter must use the above-listed form of payment for the deposit amount. The deposit amount will not be available for use by Renter and/or refunded to Renter until after the vehicle has been returned.
If the Renter incurs additional amounts owed under the Contract, those additional amounts may be deducted from Renters deposit amount, if applicable. If those additional amounts are not deducted from the deposit amount, if applicable, they will be charged to the form of payment provided by the Renter at the time of rental unless the Renter provides a different above listed form of payment to be charged.
Money orders and prepaid cards are not acceptable forms of payment at the time of rental, including for the deposit amount, but may be used to pay any amounts due at the end of the rental after the vehicle has been returned. Cash is not accepted.
In addition to one of the above-listed forms of payment, credit cards with sufficient available credit which are listed on Renter`s Profile will be accepted as payment for all amounts owed under the Contract.
All amounts owed by Renter under the Contract will be submitted (a) as an authorization to be held against and ultimately charged to Renters credit card or debit card, or (b) to be charged to Renters debit card.
Early pickup fee and car classification change fee may be required if you wish to pickup early, please check your pickup time selected prior to booking.
Local renters are not accepted.
There is no late grace period. Please reach out to extend in the event you need to keep the vehicle longer.
Please read the Renter Requirements policy (see above) for additional details about the use of debit cards and general rental requirements at this location.
- OVERSTAY
- Extensions must be requested prior to the end of your trip and must be done via the company chat line at 480 389 572.
Extensions are not guaranteed and require approval and a revised rental agreement. Extension rates will be provided to you at the time of request and are subject to change.
Vehicles not returned prior to their scheduled return times are subject to 2x the current daily rental rate for vehicle classification and will be charged to the card the card on file.

If your reservation is cancelable and refundable, you must contact the online travel agency you made your reservation through for this service. Generally, there are no refunds for early return of vehicle.
- RESERVATION HOLD TIME
- Renter is responsible for contacting company if anticipating being late for pick up. Company holds vehicles up to 2 hours unless pre-arranged for later pick up than originally scheduled. In the event your vehicle is re-appropriated or your reservation is cancelled, company will make every effort to find a replacement vehicle for renter. If the renter does not show up for their reservation company will issue a voucher to the email on file for future use.
- SHUTTLE
- Our curbside shuttle service runs 24 7 (you will not be taking the Sky Harbor Skytrain).
- SMOKING
- Smoking vaping is prohibited. A fee of up too 250.00 USD may be charged for vehicles returned with evidence of ash, tobacco, marijuana, or any other substance which has been smoked and any identifiable smell of cigarettes and marijuana.
- TOLL ROADS AND FEES
- LOCAL CHARGES
You are responsible for any charges and fines, including tolls, congestion charges, speeding tickets and parking or traffic fines.
TOLL FEES
Look out for toll fees on certain roads, as these are not included in your rental price. Depending on where you are driving, you may be able to pay for toll fees in different ways. Just ask the counter staff to explain when you pick up the car.
AFTER YOUR RENTAL
If you have incurred any charges, such as speeding tickets or unpaid congestion charges, the car hire company will try to contact you when the authorities ask them who was driving. This could be months after your rental and you will have to pay the companys administration fee as well as the original charge.
- TRAVELING TO CANADA
- Travel to Canada is not permitted and is subject to a 500 USD fine.
- TRAVELING TO MEXICO
- Traveling into Mexico is not permitted and is subject to a 500 USD fine
